How To Style Tweed For Fall

One of the most anticipating fall fashion trends is tweed. We all associate tweed with high quality and high end fashion house Chanel. It has come in mass production now in high street stores too and I am sure you can find the right ‘tweed clothing’ for you. Tweed has always had that ‘glamour’ whenever you saw it and it makes a person wearing it instantly sublime. Depending on the style you’re going for (added shine or casual), tweed items are considered ultimate classic.

1. Start small
If you are like me and you are not too intimate with tweed, then start small- with accessories. I was lucky to find this set in the same colour and style which makes styling it easy- I can pair the two with anything.
2. Shoewear
The ones that continued the trend of tweed in shoewear department were flats, to be exact- slip ons. I remember seeing ones from Zara and it was the first pairs of slip ons I saw that actually looked classy. All are usually associated with sporty/athlete vibe and since then, tweed is intertwined with other shoes: ballet flats, pumps and boots.

3. Jackets
The most popular form of tweed in clothing is the jacket and we have to thank the famous Chanel for that. If you want more of a polished look, go for clean finished seam on ends. Often you would see jackets (or skirts) with frills on ends as if they were left unfinished. Such is the style to go for when you want more of a laid back look, paired with a backpack, a cap and/or sneakers.

4. Tweed, tweed and tweed
As on the runway where models are dressed from head-to-toe look of this trend, it is also great to get it off the runway and into the daily wear. With selection of colours and style, there is possible to find what suits you and get the most use of it.

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” – Coco Chanel

Do you associate tweed with classic look or do you see it as casual too?
